What this tool does with your data

Nothing. The Csvshape CSV column profiler runs entirely in your browser. When you paste or upload a CSV file, the following happens:

• The file is read into your browser's memory using JavaScript's FileReader API.
• All parsing, type detection, and analysis is performed by JavaScript running on your device.
• No data — not a single byte — is transmitted to any server, API, or third party.
• When you close the browser tab, the data is gone. Nothing remains on disk, in a database, or in any cache.
• If you use the "Download profile CSV" feature, a file is generated and saved to your local machine through your browser's download mechanism. That file is never sent anywhere else.

Local storage

The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember your theme preference (light or dark mode). No CSV data, column profiles, or personal information is stored there. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.

Third-party services

This site loads font files from Google Fonts (Plus Jakarta Sans, Source Sans 3, and IBM Plex Mono). Google may log your IP address and browser information when those files are requested, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. No other third-party services — analytics, tracking, advertising, or otherwise — are used on this site.

Data collection

We do not collect, store, process, or share any personal data. There is no account system, no sign-in, no registration, and no contact form. The site has no backend and no database.
